Beginner gardening: where to start
You don't need a big garden, expensive kit or any expertise. You need a sunny spot, a couple of pots and the patience to let things grow.
Start with three plants
A herb you'll use, a flower you love and one vegetable. Anything more is a route to overwhelm.
Water in the morning
Roots drink up before the heat and leaves dry off before slugs come out.
